QUICK REVIEW:

         Sequoia has a solid DRE product that has a large, bright and well arranged screen.  This is an all-in-one unit that sets up easily and is intuitive to use.   They produce both the Edge (DRE) and the full ballot face machine called the Advantage.  Ballot creation software is called WinEDS and uses Microsoft VISIO to design the ballots which are then transferred to the voting machine.  Sequoia has had issues with ownership.  They were owned party by Irish interest Jefferson Smurfit.  Then they were purchased by DeLaRue.  De La Rue sold the firm to Smartmatic of Boca Raton Florida.   Smartmatic is Venezuelan owned, and that created a firestorm.  So Smartmatic has announced (Late Dec. 2006) that they firm is back up for sale.
