QUICK REVIEW:

        Democracy Systems is a new firm started by election veteran John McLaurin.  Their main products consist of voter verification technology, poll management solutions, and election systems consulting. As of the end of 2006 they ceased operations.  John and others have left.  The pollbook product is now being developed and sold by Datacard Inc.

Here is their company mission statement:

"Democracy Systems, Inc., is focused upon providing quality, reliable products and services to the democratic process as a testimony to our commitment and understanding of the concerns facing voters and election officials today, most notably, that every vote is counted as cast, and to accomplishing these goals with integrity, excellence and commitment in all endeavors.
