QUICK REVIEW:

        Danaher still (well, do they?) sells the Shouptronic 1242 machine.  That machine, as many of you know, is about 20 years old. Their largest installation is the City of Philadelphia.  Philly's purchase decision was a nightmare--it was long and controversial.  Many people pointed out that they were buying yesterday's technology and that they should wait for newer DREs.  They didn't.   Danaher still pounds the pavement in states that oddly enough still require a full ballot face.  So Danaher is still doing business in Pennsylvania and hopes to sell in NY.  They recently got in trouble by misrepresenting their certification in CT.  Read the news below for details.  Still, it is hard to see the value in buying these machines.  The voting side of Danaher probably represents about 1/10 of 1% of their total business.  Danaher is a huge firm (think many many times the size of Diebold).

Keep in mind that this is a FULL BALLOT FACE machine.  You must print these large ballots with plotters and it will take
a great deal of time and paper.  They are not easily able to meet requirements for blind voting as well.  It is technology that does have a good track record.
