OVERVIEW:
DIMS
was founded in 1981 by John R. Hice. DIMS claims to service more voters than any
other company
in the United States. They claim to serve 10 millions voters, in 4 states
and 26 local jurisdictions. However, 5 million
of those voters are in one county--Los Angeles. For the Diebold link
to the DIMS product, look here:

Since being purchased by Diebold, the DIMS
product is now in a number of state, including Ohio (with about 15 installed
counties).
In early 2003
DIMS was purchased by Diebold. The DIMS product has gone through several
versions and
platforms. One version was written for Unix. The current version is
Windows based and runs under SQL Server.
